Meet The Chef Christopher Doporto
Pecan Grill Executive Chef Chris Doporto, a proud New Mexico native, is an alumnus of the Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management program at Texas Tech University.
Chef Doporto began his culinary journey at Pecan Grill in 2009 as a line cook while attending Texas Tech. He gained invaluable experience during his internship with Moody Gardens and refined his skills under Chef David North in Enid, Oklahoma. His career highlights include serving as Sous Chef at his family’s restaurant in Artesia, New Mexico, under Chef Cloe Winters, and as Executive Chef in Austin, Texas.
Doporto returned to Lubbock and Pecan Grill in 2024, where he served as Sous Chef before being promoted to Executive Chef.
We are thrilled to welcome Chef Doporto as the Executive Chef of Pecan Grill at the Overton Hotel & Conference Center. His expertise, dedication, and passion for culinary excellence continue to elevate the dining experience for our guests.
